MEDICARE JUDICIAL, ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
health care discussions in 2004 have been dominated by issues surrounding the addition of a prescription drug benefit to Medicare, overshadowing other important changes occurring in Medicare and in our health care system in general. This article identifies ten legislative, administrative and judicial updates that advocates should monitor closely in 2005, including changes to the Administrative Appeals process, the implementation of quality assurance mechanisms for Prescription Drug Plans by CMS, pay for performance, and other changes to Medicare payments and coverage.
