CENTER FOR MEDICARE ADVOCACY TESTIFIES
REGARDING MEDICARE PART D AND MEDICARE MANAGED CARE

On March 21, 2007, the Center for Medicare Advocacy submitted testimony to be included in the record of the hearing on Medicare Advantage, held before the Health Subcommittee of the Committee on Ways and Means.  On May 2nd and 3rd, attorneys from the Center for Medicare Advocacy testified before Congress regarding the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.

The main thesis of the Medicare Advantage statement is that at each iteration of private Medicare options, private plans have shown that they are unable to provide the same services as the traditional Medicare program at reduced costs without drastic subsidies from the federal government.

Attorney Vicki Gottlich testified before the United States Senate Committee on Finance regarding early experiences of beneficiaries, providers and advocates with the Medicare Part D program.

Attorney Patricia Nemore testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health regarding Medicare Programs for low-income beneficiaries.

The testimony was covered in MarketWatch and USA Today.
