Sally Hart of the Center for Medicare Advocacy, Inc. has
prepared a paper discussing the inclusion of a coordinated care benefit in the
traditional fee-for-service Medicare program. The paper, written for the
Center for Medicare Advocacy's March 21, 2002 Medicare Coordinated Care
Conference in Washington, DC, explores legal issues and policy questions raised
by the prospect of a coordinated care benefit. In the paper, Ms. Hart
takes as her starting point a draft of legislation that would amend the Medicare
statute to include such a benefit.
