Medicare Bill A Boost For
All |
| Rarely does the General Assembly get the opportunity to pass a bill
that is good for people and the state's finances at the same time.
Rep. Linda Schofield's bill to increase Medicare Savings Program
eligibility limits does just that.
The bill would allow more low-income people to get help paying for their medications and for Medicare premiums and co-insurance, while also obtaining federal funds to help Connecticut meet these needs. As long as people are well-informed and have the opportunity to opt out of this program, the proposal will be a boost for all concerned. Thanks to those who had the insight to understand this opportunity. And thanks in advance to the legislature for getting this help for older and disabled people in need. Judith A.
